Lambeth Local History Forum

The brochure containing the programme for the 2024 Lambeth Heritage Festival has now been published.

This has more events than any previous festival. As ever, they will be taking place all around the borough, all through September.
The Local History Fair this year is on Saturday, 7th September at St Leonard’s Church, Tooting Bec Gardens, SW16 1HS and in the adjacent Church Hall.

Printed copies will be available shortly in Lambeth libraries and through many of our society members.

The next Accredited Lambeth Tour Guides Course will be starting in September at Morley College.

This is the opportunity for anyone interested in the history of Lambeth to become a qualified, professional tour guide.

Lambeth Archives will reopen in its new premises at 16 Brixton Hill SW2 1ET on Monday 12 February 2024.
Initially, visits are by appointment only. Book your appointment by emailing archives@lambeth.gov.uk

We are pleased to announce the programme of walks and tours from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.
Our new leaflet contains a record number of walks: some 86.

A printed leaflet is being made available through many Forum members and borough libraries.

Lambeth Archives is now closed at the Minet Library.

It is planned to re-open in its new premises on Brixton Hill in the autumn of 2023. For more information, go to the Lambeth website here.

The Lambeth Heritage Festival will run again this year throughout September and throughout the borough. With events of all sorts from Waterloo to Norwood, there will be something for everyone interested in their local heritage.

The Local History Fair will be held this year on Saturday, 3rd September from 10:00am to 4:30pm in St John’s Waterloo. This will be a great opportunity to meet many of the groups and organisations involved in local history in the borough.
